Saint Bernard Church- Akron Ohio

Photographing a century old church is for me a challenge. After entering the sanctuary the first moments are significant as I try to quietly synchronize with the feelings, experiences and emotions that have filled this space. My mind struggles to get in touch with the essence of a space. I muse about all the people that have passed through the doorway. I think about the joy and sadness that always is a part of this particular room in a church. I long for permission to share the in the emotions that fill this special space . I pray that I can capture a special moment in a single image that has hidden meaning to someone.

St. Bernard Church open in 1905 and I am sure the place holds great memories. Thank you St. Bernard for giving me the opportunity to experience you space. See additional images at the folling link http://kentphotographer.smugmug.com/gallery/4519050_WAvAy#266043587

Maybe Spring has sprung!

Last weekend in Kent Ohio my snowblower removed 20"inches of snow from my driveway. Windchill temperatures were below zero and life was miserable. Today it is 55 degrees and sunny...Whow it's spring and new life is about to blossom. I smile as I think about the wonderful colors and smells of the gardens in Ga. If you get the chance visit Callaway Gardens and enjoy the celebration of color. The azalea displays are magnificent.

Oh How Things Change!

Look closely...Price 26 cents. In Kent this week the price of gasoline increased by 45 cents in one day. At 26 cent a gallon I could have filled up my car for $3.90: instead I spend over $40.

Wedding Celebrations

Weddings are special times. The images seem to take on a special life of their own. ..Here is an image that I enjoy because the two people are important to me. In the last few months I have been captivated by portrait photography and hopefully I can grow this interest.

Mansfield Reformatory

Exploring a prison that has been closed for 15 years is special. The darkness and the silence overwhelms the emotions. If you listen you can almost hear the voices of the inmates. The emotional experience clings to your soul....even when you leave the facility... the sounds and images stay with you..
